When should visits to the pedodontist begin?

Most pedodontists recommend that parents start bringing their children to the pedodontist starting at the age of 1 year, and have regular checkups every 6 months.
Some children need more frequent check-ups and special care.
Recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry:
0 – 6 months:
Clean your baby's teeth after each meal and before bed with a clean cloth.
Ask your pediatrician for advice regarding fluoride supplements.
Be careful with babies' eating habits (sweetened teas, sweetened milk)
6 – 12 months:
During this period, the child's first teeth should appear.
Consult a pedodontist for an examination and to learn how to care for your child's teeth.
Brush your child's teeth after each meal and at bedtime with a small, soft toothbrush.
As soon as your child starts walking, make sure they don't hit their teeth or face.
Reduce the frequency of breast or bottle feedings and introduce solid foods
12-24 months:
Follow regular check-ups with your pedodontist as indicated by him/her.
Normally, check-ups and teeth cleaning are recommended every 6 months for both children and adults.
As your child learns to rinse their mouth, and as most of their temporary "milk" teeth have erupted, you can start brushing your child's teeth with a very small amount of fluoride toothpaste.
Thumb sucking:

In general, thumb sucking up to the age of 2 is normal and without consequences.
If this habit is not broken by the age of 4 by the child, then parents should intervene and discourage the child.
If this habit continues later, problems may arise in the eruption and placement of permanent teeth on the arch, as well as bite problems, and the pedodontist will recommend an orthodontist!
