Teeth whitening is a method by which teeth can be whitened when certain persistent stains cannot be removed through professional scaling and brushing.

The disturbing pigmentation is thus whitened, without the tooth enamel and dentin being affected in their substance.

For those who have naturally darker teeth or teeth that are stained by drinking tea, coffee, or tobacco, the solution is to whiten your teeth with a professional gel that can work with a whitening accelerator or over time by wearing retainers.

How does teeth whitening occur?

The whitening gel acts on the organic substance in the enamel, not on the mineral (prismatic) substance that gives the enamel its strength.

Organic matter contains, among other things, water.

During whitening, the tooth can become slightly dehydrated - this can cause slight sensitivity.

Over time, the tooth rehydrates – water returns to the enamel.

For this reason, colored drinks are not recommended in the next 2 weeks after whitening, the time during which the tooth rehydrates.
